The LifeDrops programme provides donors with the option to donate a small gift every month through Inter Bank GIRO or credit card. It is a convenient way of giving and this steady stream of funds ensures patients’ lifelong and expensive treatment. It also enables fundraising expenses to be kept low so that the savings will be able to benefit more needy patients.

Dialysis and Medical Subsidies

Our primary aim is to provide quality dialysis at affordable and subsidised rates to needy patients who are from the lower-income group. In addition to monthly dialysis fees, patients need to pay for medication that treat anaemia, calcium and iron deficiency, among others. With the subsidies made possible by your donations, 47% of our patients do not pay anything and in total, 60% pay $50 or less a month.

Dialysis Machines

Dialysis machines provide a lifeline to kidney patients. As we continue to expand our dialysis programmes, we need new dialysis machines because continuous usage limits the lifespan of a dialysis machine to 30,000 hours or eight years of service. Hence, dialysis machines need to be replaced constantly to ensure patients receive optimal treatment. Your donation of $20,000 will provide 1 dialysis machine that can benefit six patients who are on dialysis for about four hours each session, three times a week.

A.K. Giver

Patients come for treatment thrice weekly and have to do so for the rest of their lives. For each treatment, they depend on an Artificial Kidney (A.K.) to filter wastes and excess fluids from their body. A $25 donation benefits one patient who uses A.K.s for one week.

Education & Prevention

It is important to focus on community education on a larger scale, so that it can be sufficiently impactful to delay and prevent the onset of serious complications such as renal failure. Your donation supports conducting of health talks, seminars and health screenings; open house at dialysis centres; and outreach programmes to schools and the community.

Besides coping with chronic kidney failure, many of our patients require constant encouragement and holistic care. Your donation contributes to their psychosocial, physical health, nutritional and transportation needs to ease their financial and emotional burdens.

Trained medical social workers and practitioners provide counselling services, conduct home visits (when necessary) and initiate group therapy sessions and self-help groups to help patients.

  • Nutrition counselling
