The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) will be joining hands with the World Gourmet Summit (WGS) to organise a Charity Gala Dinner on 7 April 2016 at Fullerton Hotel in conjunction with NKF’s 47th Anniversary. The Guest-of-Honour for this event is Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Health.
NKF cares for more than 3,800 patients or 90% of needy kidney patients in Singapore. The average cost to support one patient annually is $23,000. The treatment our patients receive is highly subsidised with about 45% of patients paying nothing. Every five hours, there will be 1 new dialysis patient. As such, NKF has stepped up efforts to raise awareness and curb the rise of kidney diseases. In line with this, the menu for the Charity Gala Dinner will focus on the theme of “Mindful Eating” and will celebrate the intricate culinary craftsmanship of celebrity chefs.
Guests can look forward to a nostalgic evening where gourmet meets the arts and fine entertainment. There will be an exciting live charity auction segment. Every dollar raised from this event will go entirely to patient care and our education and prevention programme.
A big THANK YOU to everyone for your overwhelming response! We look forward to seeing you at the dinner!
Masterchef: Meir Adoni
Special Guest Chefs: Singapore Chefs Association (Culinary Team of Singapore), Singapore Pastry Alliance
