In conjunction with Vesak Day celebrations this year, 40 Buddhist temples raised over $138,000* through the Vesak Day Charity Drive “The Spirit of Benevolence”. Funds were raised through donation boxes and fundraising booths at the premises of various temples, outright donations from the temples and individuals, as well as through the support of Tote Board and Singapore Turf Club. Over 20,000 devotees participated in this event. Every dollar received will go entirely to our patient care, as we are able to cover all administrative overheads through government grants, rental income and interest income.
* excludes Tote Board Grant and donations from a few temples which are still pending for collection. (estimated $168,000 in total)
