Ideal weight gain between two dialysis sessions:within 3-5% of body weight

 

Excessive fluid intake may lead to:

  • An increase in blood pressure
  • Swelling in feet, ankles, wrists and face
  • Shortness of breath due to fluid in lungs
  • Heart problems: rapid heartbeat, an enlarged heart and weakened heart muscles

  • Distribute your fluid evenly throughout the day.
  • Use a measuring bottle to keep track of your daily fluid intake.
